Ross-on-Wye, The Forest of Dean, Wye Valley, Symonds Yat, The Malverns, Newent, Much Marcle, Ledbury, Dymock, Kempley,Monmouth, Gloucester and Hereford are within easy driving distance. You will be spoilt for choice. The location offers stunning countryside, being in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Outdoor activities available in the area include golf, fishing, walking, shooting, cycling, canoeing, horse riding, ballooning, climbing , off road vehicle experience and many more.
The Tourist Information Centre in Ross-on-Wye produce a range of car audio tours of the area.

Visitor attractions in the area include:-
- Gloucester Cathedral (where Harry Potter and Dr Who were filmed) and Gloucester Docks.
- Hereford Cathedral with the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library.
- Cider making, vineyards, art trails, cheese making, pottery
- International Centre for Birds of Prey, Newent (Day visits or enrol on a course)
- Clearwell Caves, Soudley Visitor Centre, Puzzle Wood, Steam Railway Centre.
- Symonds Yat Maze, butterfly centre and visitor park
- Historic churches, castles and houses.

HEREFORDSHIRE WALKING FESTIVAL
19th - 27th June 2010
A total of 45 guided alks have been arranged for this period - something to suit everyone. The main focus this year is the Mortimer Trail and Ross Round.
Eastview is located a few hundered yards from the Ross Round and transport can be arranged to be beginning or end of the guided Ross Round walks if necessary. Other walks close by are Fownhope Brockhampton and Capler Camp and The Woolhope Dome. All other walks can be easily accessed within an hour's car drive. ROSS WALKING FESTIVAL 9th & 10th October 2010
Ross-on-Wye has been designeated a walkers are welcome area. An annual walking festival takes place in October. Jon and Sue are both keen walkers (Sue is a member of Ross Walking Group) and we welcome walkers to join us over this weekend. One of the guided walks is the half Ross Round - a 10 mile walk from Bromsash to Ross-on-Wye. WALKING IN HERFORDSHIRE
Ross-on-Wye is an ideal base to explore the beautiful aand varied countryside. Ross has been designated as a walkers are welcome area and has available a number of walks in the area. Walks are many and varied, ranging from flat strolls along the riverside to challenging walks in the local hills. Two long distance walks pass through the town - The Wye Valley Walk and Herefordshire Trail. The 'Ross Round' (waymarked route) passes through the village of Bromsash and Ross-on-Wye (there are options for a 4,7, 11 or 18 mile walk along this). Herefordshire Council holds a walking festival in June (pre booking essential).
THEATRES
There are a number of local theatres accessible within an hour's drive, including:-
- The Phoenix, Ross-on-Wye
- The Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham
- The Courtyard, Theatre, Hereford
- The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury
- The Guildhall, Gloucester
- Malvern Theatre
There is a local (very good amateur theatre group productions) in Ross-on-Wye - The Phoenix. This theatre offers a unique experience, holding only 70 people.
