Accessibility Statement - Introduction

Eastview annexe is a self catering holiday unit for 2 adults. On site level parking is available; The site is level with ground floor access to the main living accommodation and bathroom. The bedroom is on the first floor, accessed by a spiral staircase; Due to the nature of the spiral staircase, the self catering accommodation is not suitable for under 8's or those who cannot manage stairs.

The walls and furniture are of contrasting colours to aid those with sight disabilities.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • Parking space  designated for the holiday let. This is right outside the unit
  • There is a dropped kerb to the drive
  • The driveway is well compacted level gravel
  • The patio area/entrance to the unit is gravelled
  • The driveway and entrance is well lit with sensor lights
  • There is a house name on the main house wall and a roadside wooden name post  

Main Entrance & Reception

  • Entry can be made through the main extra wide front door (outward opening) or a large sliding patio door. One 8" step into the accommodation
  • Lighting in the unit is good with lots of windows to provide natural light and a variety of electric lights for when it gets dark
  • An outside and an indoor doormat are provided
  • A guided tour is made on arrival
  • The doors are of contrasting colour to the surround (wood)

Outdoor Facilities

  • There is a gravelled patio area for the exclusive use of guest
  • Access to the owners garden direct from this patio area - slight change in level
  • Owners grounds are level and consist of gravel, grass and paving
  • There is a fish pond which could pose a problem to young children

Bedrooms

  • Bedroom accessed via spiral staircase
  • The spiral staircase has a contrasting handrail colour.  The rail guides you easily up and down the stairs (good for those with visual disabilities)
  • Bedroom is carpeted
  • Emergency fire alarm
  • Lighting with overhead spotlight trio and 2 bedside lamps

  • In cupboard lighting and directional spots in kitchen area in addition to main lights
  • Under work-surface fridge with 4 star ice box
